O Come Let Us Adore Him

Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.” Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests. Luke 2:11-14

Christ came down to Earth and showed us how to find The Treasure–God Almighty, who is more generous than anyone or anything we can imagine. Do not get distracted by the giving and receiving of gifts, as beautiful as that is, and elevate that over the gift of Christ in our hearts. We do fall in love with what we focus on–it is not about us. God wants us to have a gift of Christ in our minds and hearts, which is a living spring. if you follow the footsteps of Jesus Christ, and live a life of giving, you will not have just a gift on Christmas morning from others under one tree… you will have thousands of gifts under every nook and cranny–around every corner…and in the most surprising places. When you really worship Christ, you will see the light, the star, the miracles, the hope, the new government over your mind and heart…Bethlehem and Nazareth will really mean something. We do not have to be focused on our needs because God is focused on all our needs for us. We get to focus on meeting God’s needs, which is attainable. No wonder the Angels sang on high – they understood our God and the purpose of the Son born on that day–the mystery and miracle of sacrifice and giving. When you have Christ in your heart, you are rich because you cannot out-give God.
